- Very good looking in gold
- Relatively small in size ( 2 x 3 x 6 in )
- Comes with storage case
- Great ergonomics
- A little bit heavy ( 173 g )
- No tire levers
Crank Brothers Multi Bicycle Tool is the best-looking bike multi-tools in our selection. Of course, the look is not essential in a bike multi-tool, but anyway I had to admit it.
It’s available in three color options, including pink/black, black/silver, and my favorite one gold. Crank Brothers’ multi-tool features 17 functions, and it comes with seven hex wrench sizes.
Disk brake rotor-friendly Torx T-25 wrench helps to make this tool perfect for mountain bikes. It also features an excellent universal chain tool. The usuals are also present here: Spoke wrench: #1, #2, #3, & #4. Hex wrenches: 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 8. Screwdrivers: Philips and flat. Torx: t-25.

Best Budget Multi-Tool: WOTOW 16 in 1
- Total of 16 functions for almost anything you could ever need
- Tire levers included
- Very affordable ( sub $10 )
- A little bit bulky
- Allen keys are very thin and fragile
The WOTOW 16 in 1 is the swiss army knife of the bike multi-tools. It can help you fix almost any problem you could have with your bike on the go.
It’s made of high-quality materials, and it’s very durable in my opinion. The WOTOW features 16 functions all in one tool including socket hex wrench 8/9/10mm, screwdriver, Philips screwdriver, socket extension rod, solid wrench 8/10/15mm, HEX key wrench 2/2.5/3/4/5/6mm, spoke wrench, and three pieces tire levers.
I enjoy using the WOTOW bike multi-tool because it features so many tools on it. It’s a cheap and reliable tool that you can use for many years without any issues. The only thing that I don’t like is the design which makes the WOTOW multi-tool a little bit bulky, and ugly.
The other complaint we have is about the Allen keys. They are super thin and could be very fragile if you are not careful. In general, the overall quality is good, and the multi-tool is mainly made of hard plastic ( which is very durable these days ), and metal.
- 19 great functions for almost anything that could happen on the road
- Even including tire levers
- Chain rivet extractor
- A little bit too bulky ( 1.57 x 1.77 x 4.09 inches )
- Some users complain it’s heavy ( 0.65 pounds )
- Average quality
Another excellent option for a bike multi-tool is the Sigtuna Multi-tool. They made this very high-quality and durable product which will serve you well for years. It features so many tools ( 19 functions ) that I won’t mention all of them. I have a perfect set of small screwdrivers, Allen keys, and chain and spoke tools.
This multi-tool is made of ABS Steel which is structural steel specialized for high tensile strength. The rest of it is made of hard plastic.
It includes almost anything you could need in a bike multi-tool, and at the same time, it’s quite compact and lightweight enough ( 0.65 pounds ). It has even more functions than the first one we reviewed above, so that’s normal.
Sigtuna’s multi-tool makes precisely the same compromises as the WOTOW one. It’s bulky but full of useful features and you can easily store it in your handlebar bag or biking rucksack. So think well before choose between the functions and lightweight of the multi-tool. If you are a roadie, you should probably look for something more lightweight.
Best Lightweight Multi-Tool: VeloChampion MLT10 Multi-Tool
- Lightweight and compact
- Well made product
- Steel construction
- No tire levers
- Not so many tools included
VeloChampion MLT10 bike multi-tool is another great option for everyone who is looking to buy a good multi-purpose tool. It has a 10 in 1 hex wrench set which is more than enough for most situations on the road.
The multi-tool itself is made of steel, and it looks incredible in blue. I suppose this multi-tool is made for road bikers, but in general, it’s a multi-purpose tool so anybody could use it.
This bike multi-tool also is perfect if you need screwdrivers because it features Philips screwdriver, flat screwdriver, and T25 Torx. VeloChampion MLT10 weight only around 140 grams, and is probably one of the most compact multi-tools on this list ( 3.5 x 1.5 x 0.5 in ).
Most cyclists endorse the VeloChampion MLT10 because it’s a great value bike multitool, and the customer reviews are very positive with mostly five stars on Amazon.
If you are looking for a multi-tool for your basic needs which is lightweight, and compact, then the VeloChampion MLT10 is hard to beat on his game.
Best with chain tool: Topeak Hexus II Multi-tool
- Including a great selection of tools
- Steel chain tool
- Two modular tire levers
- Excellent quality
- A little bit on the heavy side ( 167 grams )
Topeak Hexus 2 is a very well made multi-tool with many different features. Topeak is an outstanding company when we talk about bike accessories, and this multi-tool is a beautiful example of their excellent products.
Topeak Hexus 2 is one of the best bike multi-tools which sell on Amazon because both professional and amateur cyclists use it. It’s an extremely well-assembled product that feels very sturdy and rigid in hand.
Another great feature of this bike multi-tool is the full-sized CrMo chain tool head and two modular tire levers. These are both very nice features to have in any multi-tool. In total the Topeak Hexus 2 features 16 tools.
Some of the most important ones are Allen Wrenches: 2; 2.5; 3; 4-2 piece; 5; 6; 8-millimeter, Spoke Wrenches: 15 and 14 gram, Chain Tool: Cast CrMo Steel, Chain Hook: Steel Wire, Screw Drivers: Phillips and Flat Head and much more.
One of the downsides of this multi-tool is the weight – 167 grams. But as we know, the reason for this heavyweight is the big selection of tools included and primarily the CrMo chain tool and the two modular tire levers.
They do pump up the total weight of the unit. But if you are a passionate mountain biker or road cyclists, this multi-tool would be super handy. Topeak Hexus II is also one of Amazon best selling multi-tools.
Nashbar Woody Multi-Tool
- Cheap and reliable multi-tool
- Great look and feel with the oak wood sides
- A lot of features and tools including a bottle opener
- A little bit bulky and heavy
Nashbar Woody is not the typical multi-tool. It has oak wood sides which are very lovely to look at and feel great in your hand. The tools are constructed of high-quality steel below the oak wood sides which is durable enough for long-term use.
Nashbar Woody multi-tool features many standard functions like Includes hex sizes 2,2.5,3,4,5,6,8mm; chain tool; T10,25; 1 Phillips and 2 flat drivers; bottle opener; 2 sizes spoke wrenches; 1 tire lever.
Many cyclists endorse this multi-tool because almost everything on their bikes could be amended with all the features included. I can say that this is one of the best products in terms of feel in the hand and usage.
Also consists of a removable wrench to adjust pivot tension on the tool which is not very common. Another significant think about this multi-tool is the price – it’s one of the cheapest on the market. All these things make this multi-tool one of the best bicycle multi-tools you can buy in 2020.

Of course, you could find even more lightweight options out there, but when we speak about functions/weight ratio, the Topeak Mini 20 Pro will be on the top of the list.

Pedro’s Rx Micro-20 Folding Multitool
- Very easy to use with one hand
- A lot of functions including some unique ones
- Very compact and relatively lightweight
Pedro’s RX Micro-20 is a relatively new product on the multi-tools stage. What I personally like about this multi-tool is the ease of use, and the abundance of tools included in the package.
As the name suggests this multi-tool includes 20 functions, but the package is quite small so you won’t notice it inside your pocket.
The weight of the RX Micro-20 is 160 grams – not a bad result for 20 functions. It’s available only in yellow color which is nice and makes it difficult to lose. Some cyclists complain about the quality of the product, but I think that it’s quite sturdy. Worth mentioning that Pedro’s provides a lifetime warranty upon purchase.
Unfortunately, this awesome multi-tool is the most expensive one in our list – around $40. If you are willing to spend so much on a multi-tool you won’t regret the buy. Pedro’s RX Micro-20 is a strong contender in our list of the best multi-tools for 2020.
Best Small Multi-Tool: Topeak Mini 9 Pro Mini
- Very lightweight and portable
- Includes neoprene bag for storage
- Two tire levers ( plastic and metal )
- Metal tire lever should be used carefully
- Only 9 functions
Another excellent product by the Topeak brand. If you are looking for the smallest multi-tool Topeak Mini 9 Pro is very hard to beat. With a total weight of 73 grams and 7.6 x 2.6 x 1.6 cm size, this accessory won’t take too much space in your saddlebag.
Of course, you have to make a sacrifice for this small size and weight – the functions are only 9, but you get the essentials. Topeak Mini 9 Pro is made of hardened steel which is super-durable and will withstand time. The overall quality of the multi-tool is excellent as expected from the Topeak brand.
Another great feature of this multi-tool is the presence of a plastic tire lever alongside with a metal one. You have to consider the fact that plastic tire levers break easily, and metal ones could scratch your wheels.
How important is it to have a multi-tool on your rides.
The main benefit of carrying an excellent and reliable multi-tool is that you can fix almost anything that goes wrong with your bike. These multi-tools may include star-shaped Torx drivers, standard flat screwdriver, some hex wrenches, etc.
Sometimes minor things go wrong on a ride even when you are many miles away from home. And the only way to fix an issue when you are away from home is having the multi-tool in hand. These tools are little wonders – they are super small, inexpensive, and fit in your pocket.
What to consider when choosing a bike multi-tool?
Unfortunately, there are many multi-tools on the market which are completely useless. They are made of very low-quality materials, or they lack an essential feature. Many of them would break apart on your first use as well.
That’s why we decided to test and review some of the most popular multi-tools we could find online. So the multi-tools you see here are all tested and approved by us.
This is by far the essential aspect of a bike multi-tool. Some of the cheap models will just come apart, and you will have to buy a new one. That’s why in our selection of multi-tools, all of them are high-quality and durable enough. I want to buy a tool that will serve me, and my bike for many years.
The essential thing here is to determine what kind of bike you have and what kind of cyclist are you. In general, any bike multi-tool should have hex keys ( sometimes called Allen wrenches ).
It should also have at least a good-quality screwdriver and maybe a Torx wrench. If you ride a mountain bike with disk brakes, perhaps you will need some additional tools too. So, in general, you should take into consideration your needs before deciding which one is good for you.
Some multi-tools include even a chain tool to replace your broken chain on the go. Of course, you need to carry a spare bike chain for this purpose. Otherwise, the chain tool would be useless.
